Aiden Gair earns NJCAA All-American honors
Aiden Gair, a sophomore sharpshooter for the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball team, received honorable mention All-American recognition from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
NJCAA officials released their Division I All-American list earlier this week.
"Aiden is well deserving of being an honorable mention All-American, and as a staff we couldn't be happier for him," Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay said. "We are excited for Aiden and look forward to following him where he plays next."
Gair, a 6-foot, 6-inch guard from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, started 26 games for the Grizzlies this past season. He led the team in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range.
He scored a career high 34 points and made 10 of 14 threes against No. 7 Moberly Area Community College on Feb. 8 inside the West Plains Civic Center. Gair was seventh in the nation in 3-pointers made among NJCAA Division I players with 94.
Gair will graduate from MSU-WP in May and will transfer to a four-year university where he plans to continue his basketball career and complete his degree. He is currently making visits to several institutions, Phay said.
"My time at MSU-WP was very rewarding and special for a kid from Pennsylvania," Gair said. "It was a great place for me to grow as a player and person. I want to thank my team and coaches for sticking with me through the ups and downs. The support from the community of West Plains is unbelievable, and I will miss playing in front of the Grizzly fan base. Thank you!"
